QUESTION:  We use Sage CRM and we are trying to upload data to our Sage CRM software. How do we set this up?

ANSWER:  Here are step by step instructions on setting up Sage CRM to upload data from another source or file. It is important to note, you should always consult with your certified Sage CRM consultant before making any changes to your Sage CRM system.

Sage CRM data upload feature is a quick and efficient way to upload an Excel list of visitors to a trade show, a purchased prospect list, or when converting from a legacy contact manager. Sage CRM intuitively maps the Excel columns titles with the Sage CRM tables and fields. Sage CRM is integrated to the Sage Accounting suite such as Sage 100 or Sage 300.

When uploading a CSV file containing basic company / person contact data
Under Administration ---> Data Management ---> Data Upload:

Select the file

The next screen will show the mapping suggested by Sage CRM.

CRM WILL NOT IMPORT THE RECORDS RESULTING IN AN ERROR: ‘INVALID PERSON DETAILS’
TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE:

DO NOT SELECT ‘BUSINESS’ FOR THE LAST NAME TYPE OF THE PERSON.  LEAVE IT BLANK
