What is Sage 100 ERP EDI and how does it work?

Written by Adrian Montgomery | Mon, Oct 01, 2012

Question:  Mike, we own Sage 100 ERP (formally Sage MAS90), we are a manufacturing company and are required to use EDI to do business with many of our trading partners and customers. What is EDI and how does it work?

Answer:  EDI stands for electronic data interchange. For our Sage 100 ERP customers we recommend MAPADOC by SWK Technologies, Inc

This solution will: Dramatically cut data entry time and costs by eliminating duplicate entries

1) Improve communication with vendors and customers

2) Integrate seamlessly with Sage 100 ERPĀ®

3) Reduce mapping by using a unique mapping wizard where end-users can quickly and easily create their own maps for integrated documents.

When trading partners institute new rules, you will be ready. MAPADOC provides a user-friendly way to map to and from Sage 100 ERP fields, preset variables and user defined (UDFs). You can assign values and perform pre-processing and post-processing data format conversions. Available cross references include item, ship to, ship via, general and UPC code.

The EDI Solution will also provide:

  • Inbound Purchase Order (850) Creation
  • Outbound Invoice (810) Creation
  • Outbound Advance Ship Notice (856) Creation
  • Many other forms as well that will enhance the power of the electronic data
  • Interchange (EDI) system.
