Question:  Mike, we own an Apple Mac and would like to access a hosted Windows or PC based accounting application such as QuickBooks or Sage 100 ERP.  Is it possible to run these applications hosted in the cloud?

Answer:  Yes, accounting applications can definitely be hosted in the cloud.  Popular programs such as QuickBooks, Sage 100 ERP (formerly known as MAS 90 and MAS 200, Sage 50 (formerly known as Peachtree) can all be hosted in the cloud by service providers.  What is a service provider?  A service provider can mean many things to many people.  In the most general sense, it refers to a firm who can help you better utilize the accounting software and business management solutions you use to run your business.  In this case, we are referring to a service provider who will helps as a hosting service to move your accounting software like Sage 100 ERP and QuickBooks to the cloud.  The Apple Mac can access the hosted application via its internet browser.

We have an example of a customer that owns an Apple Mac, they wanted us to help them with their accounting work so we needed to also access the application which is QuickBooks Pro Manufacturing. We used a service provider named INSYNQ that provided the hosting at a very reasonable cost to our customer.
