Mike, we are a Sage 100 (formerly MAS90) user. We made a mistake and want to reverse a Journal Entry, is there an easy way to do this?
As Sage 100 consultant, we get a lot of tough questons and problems to solve for our Sage customers. I am delighted that this question I received today can now be accomplished in 2 easy steps. Thank you Sage for making our lives easier with tthe Sage 100 2015 release.
As a certified Sage 100 consultant for over 20 years, our experience tells us it is advisable that you consult with your Sage consultant before making any changes to your system that might impact the way Sage 100 operates or performs. Reversing journal entries should be a rare thing. If you don't have a Sage 100 consultant, contact us or call 760-469-9205 and we will be happy to see what we can do to help.
Sage 100 Consultant Answer: Yes, luckily, this feature was was added in Sage 100 2015 version. It is now a simple one step process to do a journal reversal.
Step 1) Go to Modules>General Ledger>Main> Account Maintenance>Transactions - Now find the entry you want to reverse.
Step 2) Click on the entry and then click on the blue Joural Reversing icon on the right side of the screen.
Step 3) Go to Modules>General Ledger>Main>General Journal Entry - Here you will then be able to see the new reversed journal and you can update as usual. You will also note the comment, Reversal of journal: JE
