  • How to get ahead of these changes that are affecting your business

You received the email from Sage the last week of July or the first week of August. In this email, Sage announced again two (2) items that may directly impact your company’s ability to work within the Sage 300 product.

Emailing from Sage 300

Sage 300 email services will not stop working on 10/1 as indicated earlier. Sage has received clarification from Microsoft on their plans to retire support of basic authentication and confirmed that the SMTP authentication used by Sage 300 will not be impacted starting 10/1 as earlier indicated. Sage provided this updated information to partners and customers earlier this month. So while it is still important for customers to move away from basic authentication for security purposes, Sage products will not be impacted in the short term.  Google shut this off in June of 2022. OAuth or basic email authentication is currently used in many versions of Sage 300 and allows your company to be able to do the following:

  1. Email Invoices to Customers – this also applies to quotes and orders
  2. Email Statements to Customers
  3. Email Purchase Orders to Vendors
  4. Email remittance advices to Vendors and Customers
  5. Email reports to your team

Please join us in this webinar to review the options your company has so that your staff can continue to efficiently work if and when Microsoft finally retires support of basic authentication.

Sage 300 "READ ONLY” mode summer of 2023

Sage 300 will only go into “read-only” mode if a customer has not updated their software to a version supporting TLS 1.2. Sage is working with partners to help upgrade their customers and are still investigating alternatives to ensure customers are not shut down when Sage makes this switch.

Please join us in this webinar to learn about important Sage 300 security update changes that will take effect and how to make a smooth transition for your company.

We look forward to "seeing" you on Wednesday, October 26th!
